Excuse you Ventus, Vanitas is perfectly capable of fucking up with no orders at all.

It's at this point Vanitas has to stop and just stare at Ventus for a minute because the adrenalin rush is starting to vanish down the drain and he's able to pay a little more attention to things properly, and one of the things is that Ventus is definitely acting weird, for someone he just murdered someone in front of and then kidnapped. Vanitas doesn't have any prior life experience on this, but shouldn't he be a little less calm? More pissed off? Yelling or something? The most there's been was hitting the brakes before they fell through the portal, and that intense violence aura that has faded a little.

He's actively being helpful. There's a prickle down Vanitas's back. He could kill Ventus and then really nobody would ever know, except Vanitas. He needn't have even kidnapped Ventus at all, just left him in that empty world with a corpse and nothing else.

Vanitas makes the reasonable jump that 'Master Xehanort' is the man he just killed. It's weird to know he had a name. Well, of course he would, but now Vanitas knows it. It also feels vaguely familiar, and the feeling he should know it is small but insistent.

"Master Xehanort," Vanitas says slowly and with a mounting horror, because he has only one context for that title. "Keyblade Master Xehanort?" This is the absolute worst way this day could have gone. He definitely can't show his face in the Land of Departure ever again. He thought this before, and was again so naive.
