Shh, you saw nothing. Reading comprehension who? Anyway that's it, Ventus. Feel your animosity grow...
Hey, it wasn't just two days ago! He had to compare to conversations with Eraqus that were much further back for a baseline, too! This is the price when you don't really pay attention at the time. There's a weird sensation as Vanitas rolls himself in Ventus's left eye socket at the pun, causing his vision to mismatch for the duration.
Ughh, terrible. Vanitas's puns are much better, it's undisputed. It's a central airport. You can get nearly anywhere else in Europe easily from it. Can't find any GPS records since arriving there either. Which means he'd had his phone off the whole time; Ventus knows him well in the sense of him eyeing it up. But he's also right in that they can't exactly just run off to France, especially since the lead goes cold there for now.
After that, the field of view does indeed zoom in. It's hard to make out, but it's definitely something metal, with a oval on one end and a square shape on the other. The image crisps up a little as Vanitas's own curiosity takes hold, resolving into a... It's a key. Looks like an old one too, from when warded locks were common. They haven't been seriously used for anything since the start of the 20th century. Which does raise some questions as to why Eraqus has one, since it's probably not his house key unless he lives in some ancient mansion.
Vanitas makes a noise of thought, the key still in full focus. Hmn. He cancelled dinner with you, so maybe he was meeting someone else. Clearly Ventus is a lower priority than whatever was going on. Gives us a time frame to ask about.
