vacantis: (ugh!!)

Ventus would have liked a hug--But Roxas wouldn't trust one. He really barely registers that Vanitas did move closer, until he looks up for a second and its clear that he has done so. It doesn't exactly slow his ragged breathing, but it isn't nothing...It does feel like the sort of thing Terra would do.

"You aren't one though." Roxen laughs a little, in a way that sounds a bit like choking. "Isn't that the point, you r-really did everything much better then I did?" If Vanitas and Ventus were the ones switched, well then a better outcome (of a sort) does deserve to be credited. Roxen certainly isn't imagining his Xehanort raised doppleganger in a positive light--perhaps some perverse version of Roxas, without Axel and Xion to set him straight.

"Light." He said, "Was he horrible to you?" It's a bit easy for Roxas's fear fueled memories of authority figures to paint Ventus's memories dangerous in hindsight. Why did you never question this, why did you accept this, why why why. The idea of in another world, Eraqus being cruel to someone who depended on him--it's not inconceivable. That's whats really scary.
